2023 Smoke over swearing creek Blackpowder championship

On the 3rd Sat in April 2023, the Gunpowder Creek Regulators hosted the NC State Black Powder Championship (18 shooters), a Smokeless version of the same 8 stages (11 shooters) and a monthly-style match of 6 stages (7 shooters). 

The weather was perfect although black powder shooters always desire more wind; we did enjoy an intermittent breeze but the vector changed 180 degrees between AM and PM. 

We were happy to see Shamrock Sadie and Knot Hardly Dunn who were visiting from AZ and glad to see Mustang Dave and Laura after their return to NC from over-wintering in FL. 

Of the 36 entrants, there were 2 Clean shooters; congratulations to Barbwire Benn and Horse Trader. 

Congratulations to Marshal Boone Doc Willie who is the 2023 NC State Black Powder Champion with a total time of 184.69 sec for 8 stages. 

Shamrock Sadie was the top shooter in the corresponding smokeless match at 201.87 sec and Mustang Dave took the top spot in the 6 stage match with a time of 162.41 sec.
